Menlha Kadampa Buddhist Center was founded on the knowledge that it is possible for everyone to cultivate positive states of mind that will lead to calmness and inner peace. We strive to provide a conducive environment for people in New Jersey to deepen their understanding and experience of meditation practice and Buddhist studies. Meditation is the heart of Buddhist practice. Through meditation, we can gain deep insight into how to be happy and deal with life’s challenges successfully.
Our ideal is to maintain a balance of study and meditation. For this purpose we meet together on Sundays for meditation in the morning and study in the afternoon. We also have special learning intensives for deeper study, which deepens our meditation. Our regular classes are traditional: the resident teacher explains a Buddhist text and the students ask questions.
